Since November 2008, we have been providing our services under the Liandon name.
Previously, we operated under the name Nuon Tecno (specialisation: complex infrastructures).
On 1 July 2009, the Nuon Group was unbundled into a network company, Alliander, and a production and supply company, Nuon Energy. The unbundling was carried out pursuant to the Dutch Independent Network Operation Act (WON). With effect from 2011, this Act bans network companies from forming part of a group that also engages in energy production and trading.
The network company consists of two units:
• Liander:
provides you daily with gas and electricity. Liander takes care of the construction, maintenance, expansion and innovation of gas and electricity networks.
• Liandon:
your partner for complex infrastructures.
The names Liandon, Liander and Alliander derive from the French ‘liaison’, which means ‘connection’. Our energy networks literally form the connection between energy production and energy usage. In other words, these networks connect us to you: our customer.
